We are so pleased to share an update on the ‘Room to Grow’ project at Christ Church, Creekmoor in Dorset, which was completed in 2020. The project involved building an extension and transforming the spaces within this vibrant church and community hub.
The aim of the community hub is to make Creekmoor an even better place to live and work. By providing additional space, many new activities can now take place and community groups will have a purpose-built place to meet. In real terms, more space translates into being able to offer a community room, parenting classes, dementia cafe, daily community cafe, after school clubs, along with activities for the elderly, children and young people.
Working closely with Christ Church and from the hand drawn plans of a local architect, SDBF project managed the build from concept to completion. The transformed building has doubled the original floor space with the addition of an upper room, café area, front and south entrances, chapel, offices and commercial kitchen. These improvements have resulted in an enhanced worship centre and new community hub for the people of Creekmoor.
With the building project finished, Christ Church now has an amazing new building for the benefit of the Church and community alike. Unfortunately, the Church building reopened just as COVID 19 happened and the world went into lockdown.
Whilst Christ Church have managed to go back to socially distanced services and small prayer meetings, we join them in looking forward to the day when they can open their doors and the community can explore the newly transformed building and use it to its full potential.

Christ Church Creekmoor said:
For many years Christ Church Creekmoor has believed that God was calling it to extend its existing Church building to provide an enhanced worship centre and new community hub for the people of Creekmoor.
With some degree of apprehension the Church embarked upon a project to achieve this vision by enlarging the existing building within the site boundaries. We were fortunate to make contact with SDBF Building Consultancy who were willing and able to work with us. They took the hand drawn plans of a local architect and project managed the build from concept to completion.
The building work was completed in February 2020 and we are awestruck by the extended and transformed Church building. SDBF Building Consultancy have taken the vision and transformed it into a reality. This would not have been possible without the involvement of SDBF Building Consultancy and the professionalism, dedication, knowledge and willingness to get involved by its staff. The way that they have coped with our sometimes difficult demands and lack of knowledge, and at the same time dealt with all the contractors who have been involved in the work has been impressive. In view of this we would be very happy to recommend SDBF Building Consultancy.
