As 2021 draws to a close and before our thoughts turn to hopes and plans for the New Year, we wanted to pause and share our reflections on the last twelve months at SDBF Building Consultancy.
The global pandemic presented its own challenges and opportunities, and along with businesses around the globe, we adapted, adjusted and learned new skills. The year started in lockdown, but we had already adopted new working strategies, safety protocols and ways of communicating, which saw us move into the New Year with confidence and with many projects already underway.
Adapting to using Teams as a means of communicating, was just one of the new skills we learned, but our communications also extended to reach a much wider audience through social media, where we launched SDBF on Facebook and Instagram in February. This has given us a platform to share news and stories about the projects we are working on, including successful planning permissions, funding for local schools, site surveys, project updates and final completions – in fact all the news that reflects what we do.
How we use technology has been very much in mind and important investments in new computers and a digital telephone system have been made. All of which will transform the way we work in 2022.
During the year we also upgraded the SDBF website, giving us the opportunity to share even more information about our projects and services, along with regular news features. The website now bears the RICS (Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors) logotype, signifying that we have become one of the many businesses to be regulated by the RICS. We are very proud to display this mark of quality, which shows that we are formally regulated and practice to globally recognised ethical and professional standards.
Since January 2021, our projects for schools and for businesses both commercial and domestic, have all continued apace, with only some slight delays as a result of materials shortages. We are enormously grateful to all our clients, who have been incredibly understanding, accommodating and patient.
We finish 2021 in new and more spacious offices in Church House, accompanied by the smell of fresh paint, illuminated by new lighting and above all, optimistic about the New Year ahead.
We would like to thank all our clients, contractors and suppliers, who have worked with and supported us over the past year.
From all the team at SDBF Building Consultancy, we wish you all a very happy Christmas, and every good wish for 2022.
