THE BUILDING CONSULTANCY

We are SDBF Building Consultancy, an independent, multi-disciplinary practice. We offer a wide range of professional building surveying and architectural design services, across the south of England.

Our practice comprises a team of RICS and CIOB Chartered Building Surveyors and CIAT Chartered Architectural Designers, with over 30 years of experience. We are based in the beautiful medieval city of Salisbury and have extensive knowledge of the region and its unique architectural mix.

Salisbury became a planned city, created following a decision in the 13th century to move the cathedral from Old Sarum, an Iron Age hill fort, to a location two miles down the hill. With a magnificent Early English Gothic Cathedral, Cathedral Close and over 38 Grade I listed buildings, the city now boasts a wealth of architectural styles, which have been added to down the centuries.

The vibrancy of the region means that our client base includes a wide variety of sectors – residential, educational, commercial, diocesan and charitable institutions, as well as private individuals.

However large or small the project, we offer a friendly, personal and professional service that can be tailored to meet a client’s needs.

Originally operating as part of the Diocese of Salisbury, in recent years we have evolved into an independent business and SDBF Building Consultancy is now a subsidiary of the Diocese of Salisbury. All our profits are gifted back to the Diocese, to help fund the good work it carries out through the local community and beyond.
